Deception Pass Bridge is the common name for two, two-lane bridges on Washington State Route 20 connecting Whidbey Island in Island County, to Fidalgo Island in Skagit County, in the U.S. state of Washington. It was a Washington State Highways project, and included project elements built by young workers from the Civilian Conservation Corps. Completion of the bridge was a factor in the decision to build Naval Air Station Whidbey Island and helped Oak Harbor flourish. The bridge is a commonly photographed landmark of the Puget Sound region. In the spring of 1792, Joseph Whidbey, master of HMS Discovery and Captain Vancouver's chief navigator proved that it was not really a small bay as charted by the Spaniards
I also, gave you only 4 stars, because of the cars, but great details around the bridge and rocks, I made a video, to highlight some of the bridge and scenery.https://youtu.be/Nt_oYsudEec

Thank you so much for this! Like others, I was stationed at NAS Whidbey Island and live in both Anacortes and Oak Harbor for eight years until I retired in 2020. I was with VQ-1 from 2012-2015, CPRW-10 from 2015-2018 (flying with all the VP squadrons that still had P-3's, as this was the transition years to the P-8, and TOCRON-10 from 2018-2020.
I drove over these bridges, sailed under them, and in the flight simulators at work, flown under them! Great job and thank you!

Love the bridge, You did a great job. served 4 years at NAS Whidbey 70'- 74', VA-128, and VA-95. My family, and I have been there several times since, and they love it. Looking forward to our next visit. That being said, I'll echo AMEC1987's comment about the road, and traffic across the water under the bridge. If it wasn't for that, I'd give you 5 stars straight away. I'll give you 4 1/2 stars. if you find a way to fix the problem I'll gladly give you the other 1/2 star....

I wish there was a way to get rid of the road underneath the bridge, showing traffic going through the water!

Thank you so much for this! I retired from the Navy in 1997 from a squadron (VQ-1) at NAS Whidbey Island, and I regret ever leaving there. It was the most beautiful place I have ever lived. AMEC(AW) P.C. Ward

I feel the exact same way. I dream about Whidbey Island, and when I meditate, I often find myself fishing on the banks near Deception Pass or up on the Skagit river. If I hadn't married the woman I married, we would likely still be up there. I am not blaming her, but her need to be near her family trumped any of my wishes after dragging her around the country for four years. I retired out of NASWI. Moved to Northern Florida, and I hate it here.
Whidbey had some of the best weather. The rain shadow helped a lot, and while the winter windstorms sucked, it was great to not have to break out a shovel very often. I lived on Maylor Point in base housing, and while I wish some things were different, I very much miss looking out towards Coupeville and seeing Whales, and snow-capped mountains in the evenings. Seeing the Cascade's at sunset with snow on them was just amazing. I was very lucky to have 8 years of being stationed up there. I miss it every day.
